160h programme "Foundations of organic farming"

The course is suitable for beginners as well as for agricultural experts. The training provides a knowledge base on the basic principles of organic farming. The course will use a variety of teaching methods - theoretical and practical training with farm visits

Topics of the training programme:

• Basic principles of organic farming, binding laws and regulations and monitoring and control procedures - 16h
• Organic crop production - 58h
• Organic Livestock Production and Feeding - 60h
• Processing of organic products - 8h
• Marketing a farm - 16h

Total 160 hours

Duration: 28.10.2025 - 24.03.2026 (if the group is not full, the start date may be extended)

Venue: combined online and  Priekuļi, Dārza iela 12 - STC building, 2nd floor hall

Procedure:  TUESDAYS, 9:00-15:40 (once a week)

Tuition fee 360.00 euro (fee can be split in two by prior agreement)

Mandatory requirement for participants to have a prior education - have completed at least primary education (proof of completion of primary education required)

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a CERTIFICATE of completion of the 160-hour professional development programme "Fundamentals of Organic Farming". Programme code 20P62100
