We are pleased to announce that we have been authorised to carry out an inspection as part of the certification process, in accordance with Danube soya and the European soya standard.
The Danube Soy and European Soy Verification Programme is designed to confirm the origin of soy and its products, the absence of genetic modification, the limited use of pesticides, environmental protection during production and a range of other environmental, economic and social aspects.
EU Sustainability Reporting Directive enters into force on 5 January 2023 (CSRD, Directive (EU) 2022/2464). This Directive amends and lays down rules on social and economic reporting, in particular on the social and environmental impact assessment of companies, the identification of financial risks and potential actions in relation to climate change and other sustainability issues. Such reports are due to be submitted by EU national organisations from 2025 onwards (reporting period 2024 onwards). Certification to sustainability-related standards is thus in many cases a prerequisite for exporting products to EU countries.
The requirements of the Danube and European soy standards are in many respects similar to the EU organic standard, so existing organic farmers will be able to implement these standards in their production without problems.
