Workplace risk assessment is a key component of internal monitoring of the working environment, helping to assess the risk factors present in a particular workplace.

In the work process, it helps to identify the risks these factors pose to workers' health and what work protection measures should be taken to prevent or reduce these risks, as well as to assess which workers should be sent for compulsory health checks and what collective and personal protective equipment would be needed.
