Regulation (EU) 2016/1628 of the European Parliament and of the Council lays down essential requirements and monitoring of compliance with them for the emission of air pollutants by internal combustion engines for non-road mobile machinery and certain internal combustion engines for rail and river applications, for their type-approval and for market surveillance.
The manufacturer or his authorised representative shall submit an application for EU type-approval for each type of engine or family of engines, together with an information folder
Selection and evaluation of the technical service. Sending documentation and sample.
Receipt of the test report and technical description from the technical service. Evaluation of technical documentation received.
The certification body audits the production site. In case of a positive result, a certificate of conformity of the production site shall be issued.
The certification body issues the EC type-conformity certificate upon mutual signature of the instrument of transfer and payment of the acceptance fee.
