About us
History
The present-day limited liability company “Sertifikācijas un testēšanas centrs” (STC) operates in Priekuli, Cesis municipality, Vidzeme, since 1911. In 1911 the Baltic Machinery Testing Station (Baltic MTS) started operations here. More than ten PhDs and PhD candidates have worked here. The station was founded by agronomist Viļums Skubiņš.
In the beginning of 2019 STC experienced significant change and was transformed from a public company into a limited liability company continuing to perform functions delegated by the state in the field of assessment of custom built and rebuilt tractors and tractor trailers, improving the existing services in the field of certification of organic farming, conformity assessment and testing of machines, agricultural and forestry machinery, plant protection product application equipment inspections, training and introduction of completely new services and expanding the geographical area of its services.
Strategy
Implementation of objective, reliable and professional third-party conformity assessment activities according to laws and regulations of the European Union and Latvia to reduce risks to human health, safety, environment or other public interests according to the competence approved during the accreditation.

Policy Statement of the Conformity Assessment Division
The Conformity Assessment Division is a structural unit of limited liability company “Sertifikācijas un testēšanas centrs” with set infrastructure, appropriate resources, whose purpose is to provide quality conformity assessment services to any interested party to establish the added value of the created product.
Policy Statement of the STC Laboratory
The STC Laboratory is an independent structural unit of SIA “Sertifikācijas un testēšanas centrs”, which has received accreditation of the Latvian National Accreditation Bureau according to requirements of LVS EN ISO/IEC 17025 and LVS EN ISO/IEC 17020 standard.
