Any operator outside the EU involved in the organic production chain must be included in an organic control system and meet the requirements, by equivalence Reg. 2018/848 requirements. Organic products can only be imported into the EU if the importer's operator (including exporters) is certified by a certification body recognised by the European Commission according to an equivalence standard for a specific product category Reg. 1235/2008 Annex IV. The EC has recognised the activities of the Certification and Testing Centre Ltd, according to the equivalence requirements for organic certification outside the EU, according to Reg. 1235/2008 Annex IV. "PRODUCTION STANDARDS AND CONTROL MEASURES (CONTROL BODY STANDARD)"
Submitting a completed application form for inclusion in the Organic Farming Certification Scheme to coi@stc.lv with supporting documents
Assessment of the application received, request for additional information and documentation, depending on the area to be certified
Drawing up a contract for certification services and signing a declaration of commitment to the requirements of the BL
Inspection planning, which includes informing the operator of the timing and conduct of the inspection, the evaluation process and the criteria. Assessment of the documents submitted by the operator, requesting additional information where necessary. This is followed by an on-site inspection, at the end of which evaluation documents are drawn up.
The assessment documents produced during the inspection are evaluated and a certification decision is made
