Certification scheme for organic farming product certification
Every entrepreneur outside the EU participating in any stage of the organic production chain must be a part of the organic farming control system and comply with the requirements, based on Council Regulation (EC) No 2018/848 equivalence requirements. Organic products can be imported to the EU only, if the importer's operator (including exporters) has been certified by a certifying body recognised by the European Commission based on the equivalence standard for the particular category of products Commission Regulation (EC) No 1235/2008 Annex IV. EC has recognised activities of SIA "Sertifikācijas un testēšanas centrs" based on requirements of equivalence for certification of organic farming outside the EU according to Commission Regulation (EC) No 1235/2008 Annex IV . «PRODUCTION STANDARDS AND CONTROL MEASURES (CONTROL BODY STANDARD)»

Application for inclusion of the company in the Organic Farming Certification System
Sending of a completed application form about inclusion of the company in the Organic Farming Certification System to email coi@stc.lv with attached documents proving the registration of the company
Evaluation of the application
The received application is reviewed, requesting additional information and documentation depending on the sector to be certified
Conclusion of a contract
Preparation of the contract on provision of certification services and signing of the declaration of commitment to comply with organic farming requirements
Inspection at the premises of the company
Planning of the inspection which includes notifying the operator about the time and procedure of inspection, assessment procedure and criteria. Documents submitted by the operator are evaluated, additional information is requested if necessary. This is followed by an inspection at the premises of the company, after which the evaluation documents are prepared.
Evaluation of the inspection documents and making of the certification decision
The evaluation documents prepared during the inspection are reviewed and the certification decision is made
