Bio Suisse is the owner of the registered trademark “Bud” Its standards under private law go beyond the minimum legal requirements (Regulation (EU) 2018/848 or equivalent) in key respects. Certification in accordance with the Bio Suisse standards can also be awarded to enterprises outside Switzerland (BIOSUISSE ORGANIC certification) that meet the required standards and wish to supply their products to Switzerland.
The basis for certification in accordance with the Bio Suisse standards outside Switzerland is a valid organic certification equivalent to the Swiss Ordinance on Organic Farming (such as Regulation (EU) 2018/848 or equivalent). In addition, an importer for the products in Switzerland must be generally be present and indicated. This importer bears the costs of the BIOSUISSE ORGANIC certification.
