Organic farming outside the EU - equivalence requirements

Organic farming outside the EU according to eligibility requirements Reg. 2018/848 and 2021/1698. These Regulations lay down the principles and rules on organic production, the related certification and the use of indications referring to organic production in labelling and advertising. The rules shall apply to such products originating from agriculture, including aquaculture and beekeeping, where such products are produced or intended to be produced, prepared, labelled, distributed, placed on the market, imported or exported from the European Union.

Requirements for certification

Organic certification requirements for operators in non-EU countries, set out in EU legislation Reg. 2018/848, 2021/1698 and other binding implementing and implementing regulations, can be found in on the EU website. 

Organic certification scheme

Certification scheme for operators wishing to integrate their activities into the organic farming control system and to produce products with reference to organic farming using the terms "bio", "organic" and similar.

Operators engaged in crop-growing, livestock farming, beekeeping and/or wild plant collecting

Certification of preparatory undertakings
